Around Home
Lots of Hummingbirds. We counted as many as 20 at a time. By October they'd all flown to Mexico. But now we have other birds passing through.

Flowers are still blooming in December but most trees have lost their leaves and the grass has turned brown until spring.

October garden. In Texas there are two gardening seasons, and this is the fall garden. In the first photo you can see plantings of black-eyed peas, red potatoes, watermelon, cantaloupes, butternut squash, sunflowers, and beefsteak tomatoes. The second photo is from the other direction and shows cucumbers, zucchini, LOTS of basil which is the easiest thing I've grown here so far (and is host to hundreds of honeybees), and bush beans.
November garden. The white flower is okra. We had lots of bees which really are attracted to the basil flowers.
Still ripening tomatoes indoors in January!
